I’ve never paid any anime/manga site a single cent just to have my daily dose of manga and anime. I know where the sources of these free anime/manga coming from. I’m even running quite a few anime and manga sites to date which never charge people anything.
BUT. I don’t see narutofan.com as ripping the fansubbers/scanlators off though. I see him as a business-minded opportunist. And I think what he charges is very minimal (like $5/month), and the servers that he had to pay are way expensive.
Sure you can get all these anime episodes and manga chapters free from the scanlators/fansubbers’ sites, but not all of them keep the past issues, and some like Dattebayo only keep few recent episodes up for download on their site. And most of fansubbers will ONLY have BITTORENT, and NOT DIRECT DOWNLOADS.
What narutofan.com offers is ALL past manga/anime chapters and episodes. And they have all this on DIRECT DOWNLOAD. NO WEBSITES, i repeat, NO WEBSITES out there offers all this (Naruto, plus hundreds of other animes) for free!
Plus, there are many fansubbers that have stopped subbing as well as taking down their site. So where should fans turn to when they want to download the episodes released by these fansubbers? Sites like narutofan keep them alive.
